Meet the Bride and Groom

Dustin and I are serious actors with a not-so-serious outlook on life. We enjoy being on stage, having fun, and being quirky. That's why we decided to make our wedding reflect that to a T. I mean, why shouldn't it? We love each other and we love our silly little lives. So here's to our wedding and the crazy inspiration behind it....

Kristin is a high school theatre teacher and director. She enjoys acting, directing, and watching Dustin play video games. She is 23 years old and obsessed with the television series LOST. She is also a huge fan of Glee and Flash Forward. Dustin has recently gotten Kristin into film and movies not to mention NFL and College Football. Kristin plays the violin and wishes she could sing like Lea Michele (Rachel from Glee). Kristin loves Dustin with all of her heart and is so blessed that he has chosen her to be his wife.

Dustin was a Mass Communications: Film and Dramatic Arts major in college and dreams of becoming an actor, director, or producer. He is 23 and 3/4 years old and has a deep love for the Cincinnati Bengals (not exceeding his love for Kristin). He also likes the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bearcats. Dustin's obsessions include Marvel comics, cherry limeade (Minute Maid and IBC), Graeter's Black Raspberry Chip icecream, Movies, and LOST. Dustin is such a loving guy with a huge heart, and he had to work really hard to win the heart of the one he loves. It was definitely worth it.

How we Met

Our Story: The Beginning

Dustin and I met at Trevecca Nazarene University in the fall of 2005 while working on the musical Annie Get Your Gun. During this time, we were just acquaintances and didn't become friends until the following spring while working on Till We Have Faces. During this time, Dustin developed a crush on me, and didn't fully win me over until the Spring of 2007. After dating briefly, I unknowingly broke Dustin's heart. Finally, a year and a half later, Dustin asked me to attend the Junior/Senior Banquet as his date. I said yes and the rest is history! Now looking back, I can't believe that it took me that long to say yes to such a wonderful guy. We got engaged on February 7, 2009.

Our Story: The Proposal

The Proposal

We had discussed getting engaged the summer after graduation, so this proposal came as a huge surprise to the bride-to-be. It happened on the final night of my senior project. I had been directing You Can't Take it With You for the last two months and had been working with a wonderful cast and production crew. This was one of the best experiences of my entire life and it will always hold a special place in my heart. What better way to top it off than with a proposal?

Apparently, everyone knew about the proposal except for me. Word spread like wildfire, and it was a miracle that I didn't find out. While getting ready for closing night, I asked my roommates if directors are supposed to dress up on closing night, and they quickly responded with a yes. For that final performance, everyone was there- family, friends, crew, and audience.

During the show, news had been circulating backstage about the upcoming proposal. The cast and crew were on their toes and the show went off with exhilarating energy and without a hitch. I was thrilled. After the performance, the cast called me up onto the stage for what I thought was a thank you to the director. Little did I know, that when I turned around Dustin would be on one knee asking for my hand in marriage. Needless to say, I said yes.

This night was so special for both of us. It was absolutely perfect. We got engaged in the place where we met, surrounded by the people that we love most, and ironically...in the limelight.

Her Side

Well, here are the lovely ladies who make up my side of the line up. In no particular order...

Lillian Ford Stewart
Maid of Honor

Lillian Stewart is my dear friend and heart sister. We share a connection that many friends don't find. Even though we have only known each other for 3 short years, it feels like we must have met in another life. She is 21 years old and originally from North Carolina. Lillian attends Trevecca Nazarene University and is studying pre-med. Lillian and I were apartment-mates for 1 year and a summer. She is bright, bubbly, and full of love and light. Lillian is a giving person who focuses on others instead of herself. I am proud to have her in my bridal party. Lily does not have a facebook so don't try to find her, alright?

Marcella "Cella" Johnson
Maid of Honor

Marcella Johnson and I met briefly in the 2nd grade and met up again in High School to become the best of friends. We attended Trevecca Nazarene University together for 3 years and are still very close to this day. She graduated with a degree in History. Marcella constantly keeps me laughing as we walk through our new "adult" lives together. She is 22 years old and currently the hiring manager at Old Navy. Marcella and I share a love for theatre and have been since our "Into the Woods" days. Marcella is wise, intelligent, and has a great sense of humor. Marcella is fond of Martin Luther King Jr. and has taught me a lot about being "black".

Caitlin Blair Galloway
Bridesmaid

Caitlin Galloway has known me for the most consecutive years out of any of my other bridesmaids. Caitlin and I have been best friends since the 3rd grade. Caitlin didn't like me very much at first, but that's okay it was probably because she didn't have many friends. I kid. Caitlin and I have shared so many lifelong memories. She and I can not see each other for years and pick right back up where we left off. She is very special to me. Caitlin is 22 and recently graduated from The University of Tennesse at Knoxville. Caitlin is understanding, entertaining, and nothing short of hilarious. If you think Caitlin looks upset, she's really having a blast.

Marissa Crystal "Moon" Robbins
Bridesmaid

Marissa Robbins was Marissa Moon when we met just over two and a half years ago. She is Dustin's younger sister. Marissa got married just over a year ago to the wonderful Steve Robbins. Dustin and I are so blessed to have them as our brother and sister (in-law). Marissa is 21 years old and recently graduated from Olivet Nazarene University where she and Steve met. I am thrilled to have her as part of my bridal party. Her sense of humor and advice keep me going through the wedding process. Marissa is a Cincinnati native with an amazing knack for winning medals and ribbons. Marissa will be the first to tell you that the answer is always "B".

Cassie Amaris Hamilton
Bridesmaid

Cassie Hamilton will always be my stage daughter. We met through Trevecca's production of Smoke on the Mountain when Cassie was a freshman. Cassie and I have been in many productions together over the last 3 years. She is such a funny and talented part of my life. Her party planning skills rival mine and our love for people has brought us even closer together. Cassie is a heart-felt friend who cares deeply about me. She is 21 years old and attends Trevecca Nazarene University. Cassie was born and raised in North Carolina. She is studying Dramatic Arts. Cassie also shares my love for food and cooking. Cassie is crazy, talented, and heart-felt. If you want to get in touch with Cassie then you should probably text her.

Jillian Marie Frame
Bridesmaid

Jillian Frame will always be my onstage sister. We met in the theatre department at Trevecca and were apartment-mates for 1 year. We have been apart of numerous plays together over the past 4 years. Jillian and I share an intense love for the art of telling stories through theatre. She is a talented actress and director. We have spent the last year honing our directing skills and practicing on each other. She is currently working with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival on their production of The Tempest, and I couldn't be more proud of her. She is 22 years old and a Nashville native. Jillian and I share a sense of family and humor. Jillian is also a talented dry-brusher.

Brittney Nicole Avant
Bridesmaid

Brittney Avant and I met in high school at Christ Church Nashville in the youth group. We also share an intense love for theatre. Brittney is proudly one of my nerdiest friends. We spend plenty of time singing show tunes and making videos. Brittney now attends Trevecca Nazarene University and is 23 years old. She is also a Nashville native and is studying Dramatic Arts. Brittney's sense of humor never ceases to keep me laughing. She is funny, energetic, and a diva. I wish I had a dollar for every time we dressed up in costumes for no reason. Maybe I shouldn't have said that? I am so pleased that Brittney will be standing by my side on wedding day. She is also a real life "halfrican". Go ahead, ask her.
